MARANI 1915

„Marani 1915“ – A Cellar that Continues the story. Marani 1915 is a family-owned winery whose story begins in 1915 - a time when winemaking in Georgia was not a business, but a way of life. It was a deeply rooted cultural expression, passed down through generations with reverence for tradition, land, and ancestry. Each qvevri (clay vessel) held not only wine, but care, patience, and belief. More than a century later, these values remain at the heart of everything we do. Our vineyards are located in the heart of the Alazani Valley, nestled at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, within Georgia’s most renowned appellations of origin: Mukuzani, Vazisubani, Gurjaani, and Kakheti. These terroirs, long considered the soul of Georgian viticulture, offer a unique combination of soil, sun, and microclimate. We cultivate our grapes using organic methods - with deep respect for nature and without chemical intervention. This harmony between soil and climate gives our grapes purity, depth, and distinctive natural character. Our wines are crafted using the ancient Georgian qvevri method - in century-old clay vessels buried underground. The process relies on minimal intervention and maximum patience, because for us, time is the essential ingredient that no technology can replace. Marani 1915 produces limited-edition, premium wines - made for those who appreciate authenticity, heritage, and flavors that speak louder than words. Each bottle tells a story of people, land, and timeless tradition.
Kalauri village, Gurjaani
„Marani 1915“ was founded in Kakheti, in the village of Kalauri, Gurjaani Municipality - in the heart of the Alazani Valley, where wine has lived and breathed for centuries. This land is not just a geographic location - it is a living, 8,000-year-old heritage that continues to carry the soul of traditional Georgian family winemaking. Kakheti is one of the ancient cradles of viticulture. Its rich soils, mild climate, and perfectly balanced sunlight create ideal conditions for the vine. Historical and archaeological evidence confirms that this region is among the world’s most continuously cultivated winemaking areas. Our vineyards are located in the distinctive microzones of the Alazani Valley - Mukuzani, Vazisubani, Gurjaani, and Kakheti - places that are not merely names on a map, but living terroirs that have shaped the identity and quality of Georgian wine for centuries. Today, we continue the path of our ancestors - crafting wine in the very same qvevris, where time, tradition, and nature come together to define its true character.
